So....

This is

Spring!

All things in this world must be seen with the morning dew on them, must be seen with the youthful, early-opened hopeful eyes
(Henry David Thoreau)

Yes, every sign is here that Spring is now here. There were crocuses of varied hues in new places in my yard. Some were just enjoyed....others were transplanted to have better viewing next year. The daffodils are poking their sunny heads above the ground, tiny violets meander around the yard, and the hyacinths are boasting yet another spring of exceptional fragrances. My Prairie Trillium is finally showing its leaves after being hidden since planting a couple of years ago. My daughter had this flower in her neighbor's and I fell in love with it. It is mauve, upright, yet delicate. However, her new neighbor cut all the flowers away and our hearts were broken. I found some at a nursery in Indiana and ordered three plants. Am looking forward to their flowering this year. It is such a beautiful time of year and we have such anticipation for the new seasons ahead.

Paxton and I bought each of us a new whirligig. His is a daisy with a hummingbird on it. Mine is a daisy with a Monarch Butterfly on it....to commemorate the many Monarchs who visit my yard each year. Actually, my whirligig is supposed to keep the birds from eating my grapes before they get to grow.

We have a part of the church pew my family sat on before the church redecorated with new pews. On this pew right now are gardening magazines with all kinds of ideas for my yard this year. I plan to restore an old bathtub pool in my back yard that my father and brother planted years ago. It has been covered over with dirt and vines, but Paxton and I removed old board and tree limbs from the top of it and it is ready for cleaning and rejuvenation. Hope to put some goldfish into it.

And so it is with the Springtime of our lives. In youth we are busy with beginnings. Dreams lie folded in the bud. Confident with the false courage of our own unmeasured strength, we plunge out into the swirl of life, believing the Spring is rich with the symbolism of immortality. It is God's gracious guarantee of a life beyond life, for all its beauty is a promise and a fulfillment. All Nature bids us hope and be glad in the hoping, for Spring is the eternal demonstration of resurrection and renewal.

It is the flowering again of the buried hope. It is the releasing of new energies into the rhythm and flow of life. It is the fresh goad to the flagging faith. It is the joy of the heart after the winter of its despair; the promise and the proving of life everlasting. Spring speaks to our hearts and we respond with joy as we look forward to the blessings we will be able to experience and to those we can share with our loved ones.

We pray your Spring brings you an abundance of new blessings and also those that have become such a part of your own life as the years have passed. Our hearts are with you as you meander into this new season with expectancy and the love of your Lord within you.

God Bless You !!!!!
